Congress Candidate Val Ramirez Mukherjee (Illinois Congress District 10) wishes "Happy Independence Day" to Indians on Aug 15th, 2020 in an event organized by US IMPACT, the largest US - India advocacy platform in the USA. Former Finance and Technology Executive, 4. Self-made Businesswoman, Entrepreneur, Mother Val was born in Daly City, CA, on Flag day (June 14, 1973 ) to a Slovenian mother (Renee) and Mexican father (Gus Sr). Renee joined the Social Security Administration right out of high school in San Francisco, CA. She graduated from Berkeley debt-free, while volunteering, working, and maintaining top grades. She later attended two Ivy League universities and graduated from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University (MPA), where she received several academic scholarships. She also attended The Wharton School, where she earned an MBA (Finance). Val spent over 15 years in finance, technology, and politics working at leading firms, such as UBS, Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo, Bloomberg, IBM, and Silicon Valley startups. She started volunteering for GOP Congressman Bill Baker. She joined his campaign as his Campaign Manager and Congressional Aide and was one of the youngest women in the country in these roles. During her tenure, she worked on the signature legislation to fund and extend Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) to San Francisco airport. She left the corporate world at age 39, to launch and run her family’s private investment office, Zen Capital Partners. Val met her husband, S. Brian Mukherjee, a technology executive turned investor almost 20 years ago while working at an Internet startup in San Francisco. Brian is a first-generation immigrant from India, whose parents fled Bangladesh as refugees during the partition in 1947. The event was organized by US IMPACT, the largest Indian American Advocacy group in the USA having chapters in 29 states. With an active volunteer base of over 5800 members, US IMPACT is currently working with over 140 candidates & congressmen running for re-elections, helping them in various ways.

Congress Candidate Esther Joy King (Illinois Congress District 17) wishes "Happy Independence Day" to Indians on Aug 15th, 2020 in an event organized by US IMPACT, the largest US - India advocacy platform in the USA. Esther Joy King is a leader who has a heart to serve. She learned the value of serving from her parents who were missionaries on the US-Mexico border. As Esther grew up, she learned the importance of helping people. Esther spent time in Kabul, Afghanistan serving as an aid worker. Because of her experiences there, she became passionate about democracy and human rights. Esther’s entrepreneurial spirit led her to start a marketing firm where she learned firsthand about creating jobs and opportunity. Esther studied law at Northwestern School of Law, where she earned a JD and Masters of Law in Taxation. She began her legal career as an Associate at Kirkland & Ellis in Chicago and later had the opportunity to serve the State of Illinois in the Office of Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Technology. These experiences motivate Esther to look for common-sense solutions for the people of Illinois. Because of her desire to serve our great nation, Esther joined the U.S. Army Reserve as a member of the Judge Advocate General Corps. She was recently promoted to Captain and assigned to the Rock Island Arsenal. Today Esther is an entrepreneur and practices law focusing on real estate for economic development.
